Shakti Mental Health: July Newsletter
Welcome to our July edition of the Shakti Mental Health newsletter.
This month we have a range of supportive events that community can take part in, including our final multicultural mens yoga session, "What will people say say" mens and womens discussions and our Hum Saath Safe spaces trivia event!
Words of wellbeing: Each month our newsletter will introduce you to a different word in South Asian language used to convey wellbeing and emotions. South Asian words that explain feelings and emotions English never could.
Azadi Hindi Sanskrit: आज़ादी A term that describes meaning far deeper than just “freedom, justice or liberty.” It has become a political, social, and emotional demand for dignity, fairness, and the right to a future.
युवा प्रदर्शन में ‘आज़ादी’ की पुकार उन टूटे हुए तंत्रों से मुक्ति की मांग है जो उनके भविष्य और सम्मान को प्रभावित कर रहे हैं
-
In the youth protests, the call for ‘Azadi’ is a demand for freedom from the broken systems that are undermining their future and dignity
-
“Yuva pradarshan mein ‘Azadi’ ki pukaar un toote hue tantron se mukti ki maang hai jo unke bhavishya aur sammaan ko prabhavit kar rahe hain”
